Introduction
        Withrow University College is a tertiary institution established in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The University College will award Baccalaureate degrees in Public Health related programs and Nursing beginning in 2012-13 academic year.

Mission
        Our mission is to produce qualified, dedicated and compassionate public health and nursing graduates. It is our mission and responsibility to train productive and caring graduates using nationally and internationally recognized acceptable standards coupled with cutting edge hands-on experiential training. Upon completion of our programs, students would have acquired life-long skills, enhanced confidence and clear understanding of the relative importance of public health and the role of nurses and public health professionals play in Ghana today. Our degree programs are in public health and nursing. Future programs will be in the areas of Laboratory and Medical technology, Laboratory Management, and Leadership and Management in nursing to serve as our contribution to the national goal of enhancing the quality of life for the people of Ghana.

 Vision
        We aspire to be an internationally and nationally acclaimed public health institution, committed to the core principles of public health: assessment, assurance and policy development. That our graduates will be trained in current advances in health technology to mobilize, assure, and develop policies that will enhance the quality of life for the people of Ghana. Our areas of interest and concentration will be the training of professionals able to provide “protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities to prevent illnesses and injuries, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and social advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities and populations”. The success of this institution and its ability to achieve its goals and objectives will depend on dedicated faculty, students, support staff and the people of our immediate surrounding communities. Withrow University College is truly a community and service-oriented institution.

Core Values
        The teaching faculty, students and administrative staff of Withrow University College of Ghana share certain core values: Academic excellence: Faculty, students and administrative staff should accept and expect higher standards of academic orientation in all aspects of their training and education. Community Responsibility: Community and social responsibility should be promoted and encouraged by requiring participation in community service for every student and faculty in their communities. Integrity: Faculty, students and staff are expected to behave ethically and honorably. Withrow College believes that learning includes both intellectual and character development.  Engagement: Students will develop intellectually, creatively and socially through active and reflective learning; interdisciplinary approach to healthcare studies and individual and collaborative creative activity. Leadership: We expect all students to be role models in all aspects of their lives after their training. Diversity: We are committed to providing educational access to all who qualified while creating a community that embraces diversity and differences. We believe that our differences make us richer and provide a global perspective in life.

Location: The College is situated between the Towns of Agona and Asamang in the Sekyere South (formerly Afigya) District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

General Admission Requirements: BSC Degree

SSSCE/WASSCE holders seeking admission into Degree programs must have at least C6 (WASSCE candidates) or D (SSSCE candidates) in all their three Core and three Elective Subjects. Candidates should therefore possess at least, credit scores/grades in the following: Three core subjects (English Language, Mathematics (Core) and Integrated Science / Social Studies); and any three elective subjects in the relevant programs. Aggregate Score of the best six subjects (three core and three electives) must not exceed 36 (for WASSCE scale) and 24 (for SSSCE scale).
GCE Entrants: Credits in 5 subjects at ‘O’ Level including English Language, Mathematics, 3 ‘A’ Level passes in: Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics and pass in General Paper.
HND and other Diploma Applicants seeking admission into Degree programs should possess at least a Second Class (Upper Division) in the relevant area. The applicants would be admitted to level 100/200 depending on their selected programs. Candidates would be required to pass a selection interview to be conducted by the University College.
Mature Applicants: Applicants must be 25 years with science background-chemistry, Biology and either physics or elective mathematics; must pass an entrance examination and an interview conducted by the College.
Foreign Students Requirements: Foreign students must have result slips translated into English. In addition, applicants must be able to speak and write fluently in English or equivalence established by the National Accreditation Board (NAB).

BSC Degree (Nursing)

Academic Calendar
Withrow University follows August–May schedule. Our academic calendar follows the semester model (two- semesters/year) with summer sessions.
Accommodation: Hostel facilities and student dormitories will be available through Student Housing Services. A shuttle bus service from the hostel to campus will be available.
Health Insurance: All students must be covered by the National Health Insurance Scheme.
